    Need a answer quick.

    4.2 went in my 87 yj. I am curious if a 318 from a grand will bolt up to my ax15 and match up to my engine mounts. Can get a complete grand cherokee.
    87' yj, 3.5" superlift,HD extended shackles,1.5" homemade body lift,35" bf m/t,ar 767 rims,warn 8000 lb winch. And of course 1000lbs of rust

    I've read that because of the anti-theft system in the ZJ, you have to move a shit-ton of stuff over, including the computer, otherwise it wil not start.

    Just something to do more reading up on.

    Why not just pull every thing out of the Grand and swap it to the yj and change the 242 for the 231
    I thought life handed you lemons..... who the phuk is throwing them at my head !!!

    X2 on the 3.9l dak bellhousing. The engine mounts won't line up. The grand electronics are very easy to fool into running, however you'll have to swap the entire electrical harness from the ZJ into the YJ. It'll include lots of harness "Massaging". The 318 is much longer then a smallblock chev. It'll have to be set back in the engine bay and shorten your driveshaft length. If the 318 has a bunch of miles look at the cam, and timing chain. Stock axles won't tolerate the added torque for long. I think the coolant hoses are on the wrong sides etc.....
