In its new home. Spent a bunch of time head scratching. Would be nice if the front rock was built a bit more offset but what can ya do. A couple of choices but pretty sure i know what i'm going to do with the links, just need to run some numbers. And the motor mounting that came with the chassis is going to get cut off and moved up and over a bit. It's gonna be a real bitch but gonna try and keep it nice and low. Also gonna have to do some chopping up of that pretty tube work. That hurts a little. lol. Shooting for about 7 ft to the top of the cage at ride height on 54's with about 155" wheelbase.

Sorry about the shit camera. lol

This is going to be a sweet build, watching all the boxes open with new parts brought tears to me eyes. Next time the wife stays home and I come with tools LOL
There is no such thing as a stupid question, If you don't know the answer. As long as you keep telling yourself that, I am laughing with you and not at you

I know hey, new shit is a beautiful thing! Just make sure she loads you up with baked goods before hand. hahahaha. I'll try and grab that piece of the bender for ya that i forgot this eve Benno.

Not gonna lie, this build is a little overwhelming. lol. Never done anything quite like this. So much to do it's hard to decide what's next but i got the heights, driveline placement, and suspension numbers where i want them so we'll just keep tacking shit in. Should be another pile of parts, steel, plasma and a hydro bender coming soon so that'll help. Lots of the tabs are butt ugly right now but when the time comes they'll get redone to tie everything together all pretty like. Very likely that a couple different sheets will be outsourced to my laser cutting buddy that did my switch panel for various tabs, gussets, dash etc. Too bad Princess Auto doesn't sell the tube rollers like harbor freight does south of the border.

And man has this site turned into a ghost town. What happened while i was away? You guys are slacking. Not even a single comment on the load bearing wood bolts. lmao

Oh ya, right on, forgot you made one. Didn't realize it was finished. Looks like it's for 1.5"? What thickness have you rolled with it?

1.5" .120 wall. We've only used it at work to make a bunch of bowed rollers.

Ah, cool. Chassis is all 2" but could come in handy for a couple odds and end further down the road. Hmmmm, maybe for my heep as well. lol. Thanks buddy, might come for a visit and a tool jacking in the future if you're not using it then. I'll bring a dd.

And looks like we'll be back at it again this weekend. Hmmm, what next. lol

What a project! When I first got there I wasnt even sure where to start! Then we decided to put the tires on the front axle. This alone was hard

Then things started coming together under Curts instructions. Played with the calculator and the numbers. Was amazing to watch how this is done. I had read it up a few years ago but seeing it live was amazing.

Huge project but little by little we will be sorting out the speed bumps that will come along. It was a lot of fun to help out.

    Some pics I took:

Our grade 8 wood bolts did the job

Looking forward to seeing this buggy evolve.....
