i will never install such a device in any vehicle i drive. This would be a total disregard to our supposed right to privacy. Last thing i need is some insurance company tracking my every move. The right to privacy should always trump profiteering and imo not worth taking the chance of possibly saving a few dollars. Insurance companies are not here to look out for any of us but to generate as much profit as they can. They see profit in these devices or they would not be considering investing the money to build/buy/intall/track, they would have to hire more more people to go thru all the data.... and so on and i dont think for a second that they would be dishing out all that money and effort if they did not see a big return in their investment

I would think they would simply outsource the data analysis as it could be done for cheap from other countries (more privacy issues) and the tool would obviously have to collect location information in order to determine habits accurately. No way would I ever let this into my vehicle. Maybe they could reduce my home insurance rates by installing a camera in my house too.

For anyone that thinks it's a massive privacy issue, you do realize that the entire time you're driving down the road whoever wants to may observe you.

That includes character recognition systems and license plates as far as I know.

but seriously...the insurance companies don't have satellites or the time to monitor each customer....

but they do have the time to download the info during renewal time....

needless to say, i'm not getting on board to save a couple bucks.

I wish they'd shove an adjusto up every liberal party member's a--. The amount of fraud that'll be uncovered is mind boggling.
