    1998 jeep cherokee torque converter

my son and his friend just pulled the trans on his jeep.broken flywheel.looking at the torque converter it wobbles back and forth if you grab it and wiggle it side to side.should this not be pretty firm on the shaft, also when turning it there seems to be knocking noise if you try to turn it quite fast,a slow easy turn produce no noise.

should he put this tranny back in or look for new one (used)

thanks hoping to have it done today

Start looking for a new one or get the old one rebuilt

I have an AW4 in my backyard. If you want it to compare come and get it. The TC will wiggle a little when not bolted to the flywheel. I don't know how good my AW4 is but it worked when pulled. It's been sitting for a couple of months without the dipstick tube in it.
