    The DXXJ

Guess i'll get one of these started before i hopefully run out of time to do so...once the nice weather kicks in i can re-claim my garage and get to assembling the bits and pieces i've begun to accumulate.
apologize up front for the pics, iPhone....once the build starts i'll pull out the big guns and shoot stuff in RAW

    1999 Cherokee Sport
    4.0 / AW4 / 231 / 30--8.25

    day i bought it $1000

have since dropped a couple grand more into it for cert 'n sniff
had the shop swap out a bunch of stuff pre-emptively as well (all the ball joints, tie-rods etc etc)
did the cap/rotor/wires/plugs/air filter - rebuilt 4 hole injectors
besides still throwing me an occasional P0206 it's running a shyt-load better than the first time i fired it up...waiting for some warm weather to hunt down the problem wiring

began acquiring new parts for down the road. i still plan on a rebuild beginning late fall '14

new intake and exhaust manifolds, new exhaust, new cat and O2s...will decide on post-cat once the lift is installed

    SYE, BDS 6.5 LA

    33x12.5-15 Procomp on Cragar

so ya, once i can get the garage freed up it's go time!!

And thanx too to those here on the forum that have helped me get over the little day to day hurdles

Subscribed! Nice to see a classic build planned with quality parts and a solid Jeep.

LookIng forward to seeing the BDS 6.5" kit going in... Maybe you should open up your BDS kit and post some pictures of it

Any plans for fender flares? I'm sure you'll get tired of the 33's with that 6.5" kit.

If i had the room in there i'd have had all the boxes open and probably spent a few hours laying it all out just to get my head around it all
Even with the 33's i might have to get flares...they suggested a 4.5" BS but i went with a 4" so we waits 'n sees how it plays out. The tires i got work out to 32.6 and on a 10" that'll prob lower it a hair more yet so i might squeek by. I'm trying to get by a year or two at 33, see if i can avoid a re-gear and having to go nuts on steering upgrades (need a roof sometime this year if possible). But if i'm beyond "getting by" i'd def. love to get a set of tube fenders on armor!!!!

Gotta keep telling myself "roof" or my stash of cash would be gone in an hour

looking forward to the start of your thread Black_Sheep

For removing the plastic it's easy, just rip it off and use goo gone for the sticky strip left behind
will keep that in mind, thanx still undecided, but if i do decide to do it.......

you can just strip the whole truck behind the rear bench seat of all the plastic crap interior panels.. you'll be amazed how much extra storage compartment space you find!!!
i wanna keep the panels, gives me a clean(er) finish for running wiring etc. Especially if i'm ripping the carpet and rear seating. If the plan runs it's course I'll be running a second battery, amps, multiple antennas (ergo the DX in DXXJ...ham radio).

Was considering that too, but mine'll be a spring thru fall so i don't really need the insulating factor...and hopefully the tunes'll bury any new road noise

busy mornin'...just ordered 3/8 steel diff covers. Now thinking about gears.....i've lost me farkin' mind
