    Any builders here??

    hey all...

some of you may have seen the pic of my project in my XJ build thread...
anyway, wondering if anyone has had this issue before or if it's just a normal thing

    a little back-info
frame is a softail, 38* in the neck and 4" stretch to the backbone
LHD with a 1" offset on the tranny mount (hardmount, no plate)
    '99 down style evo

    installing a '95 fxst 1340
    6-speed ultima trans
    3.35" ultima primary

    so...here's my issue/question.
if this frame has a 1" offset built into it, why the f##k am i needing to go to a 1.5" spacer to align the primary backing plate? and worse i'm having to go to a 1.75" offset collar???

    thanx for any insight...

    couple of quick shots...
    trans mount
    gap w/1" spacer

clearance of front pulley from front and rear on 1.5" spacer. engine and trans sit flush to backing plate, need more meat (.25") on the pulley
