    TJ 8.8 Axle Swap Kits

A bunch of friends want some help ditching the ol' Dana 35 and I'm too damn lazy to make all the shit. Figure id maybe look into a group buy. Had some time to snoop around at work and found these, in order of price. Can't believe the variation! So, my questions, anybody ever dealt with these companies or are there any I've missed?

Eric at staangs fab built mine (custom truss and completely welded on axle). I won't say for how much but it was cheaper then some of those prices.

I was going to get the artec and get get Eric to burn it in (didn't trust my PA welder to burn it good enough) but after talking to him it was cheaper and turned out better to get him to design a custom truss. It has 2 levels for the track bar (I'm running a stock track bar in the upper hole with a 4" lift and it's perfectly centered) as well has raised shock mounts that sit in the middle of the tubes.

The 8.8 housing is rather weak and prone to bending. Anyone who is putting an 8.8 in a wheeler to thrash on would be served well with the Artec kit since the there's is the only kit shown that has a truss which integrates the upper link mounts and track bar. It looks like the coil buckets are even tied in to them...nice. Money well spent for an all-in-one kit which should add some important beef to a chincy housing.

I know the staangs fab truss is not a kit but just like the Artec truss everything is tied in together.

Are all these guys planning on sticking with with coils and springs, or is anyone wanting to go coilover? We're working on some new 8.8 truss kits right now, but haven't nailed down all the options yet. Pricing will be very attractive since we're predicting these will be a strong seller.

Thanks for the input folks. Looks like Artec is the fan favorite.

Just installed an Artec on mine. Instructions were good and it was quite easy to weld. I purchased mine from East Coast Gear supply and was very happy with their service.
