    trailer

My 75-CJ is covered by classic car insurance. I don't off road and drive about 500 miles a year. Insurance advised removing trailer hitch and if towing any trailer even my small utility unit will null any insurance coverage . For years I have used the trailer to bring my recumbent tricycle to the occasional car show or bicycle event. . After checking with several insurance companys i found none that will cover towing,. I am not able to get a reason for their refusal . Any advice?

That is weird, I used to go to car shows with my 65 Chevelle and quite a few hotrods were towing campers trailers.
Maybe if your Jeep is covered as a hotrod it may cover it, my dad's 37 Chev is insured as a hotrod it's a bit more a year but next time I am talking to him I
ask if he is insured to pull a trailer.

Thanks . I found out by accident when I mentioned taking trike to car shows. Apparently custom trailers such as a beer keg or coke cooler can be covered if specified in the policy but not a utility trailer. You may ask the hot rodders if they are aware of the trailer situation.

    trailer

Something sounds fawked up here. Was a hitch an oem option on the cj? Is the trailer and load within spec'd allowances? Id try giving an ombudsman a call....at least for an answer as to why

Sounds like it's time to build a custom trailer

Worst case that if you can no longer tow a trailer, is it possible to have a receiver mounted rack made to carry this tricycle?
