    Ouch Hott

So yesterday I put a magnaflow muffler on my jeep with a new tailpipe....

Issue is now this morning I drive from my house to my morning timmies which is maybe 5min drive...

I get there go to touch my exhaust tail pipe and can't because it is soooo fricking hot....

Is this normal after such a sort drive? What could be causing this if it's abnormal?

all I can think of is that it is lacking back pressure that would allow the exhaust to cool down a little more and as far as I know most tailpipes get to hot to grab onto.

evey hear about the guy that tried to blow up the bus??

engine light on.. throws your jeep into a "safe mode" which makes it run rich... which kills your mileage, and in turn means you end up with a bunch of fuel in the exhaust, which burns up in the cats or clogs them up. burning fuel in the exhaust system will raise the temperature of the exhaust pipes.

another option would be to by a battery powered fan to blow cool air on to your exhaust pipe... since that seems to be your primary concern.

PS you just installed a performance muffler and tail pipe... but your pockets are too shallow to address a check engine light...

I put in a $20 muffler and a $40 dollar factory tailpipe..... Nothing fancy...

And the engine light has been addressed and planing on doing a smoke test....

The shallow pockets comment was in reference to giving her Honda down the highway to clean her out.... Lol
