    Should I go SOA?

I'm pretty torn on if I should change my YJ over to SOA...

    Reasons I'm considering it:

Get rid of my shackle lift
    Reduce shackles/leafs from hitting obstacles.

    Reasons I'm hesitant:

    Too much lift added
    Drive line angles
    Extra axle wrap
    Steering

I'm really torn on this. I told myself I wasn't going to keep investing in my YJ but I REALLY hate my leaf springs constantly getting in the way.

To be honest I don't know much about doing a SOA set up. I know guys think it's cheaper and easier to do than it really is. I know steering is an issue but I don't know the work around so feel free to educate me or link me to were I can read up on it.

Not investing that much into this when I'm collecting parts for a 1 ton LJ build.

    Should I go SOA?

Well if your collecting for that just leave well enough alone and enjoy what you have it won't make a world of difference to justify the effort and money in doin it but that's just my opinion

If you want to keep things simple and reliable, lose the longer shackles - they do more harm than good, and leave it spring under.

Doing a properly executed spring over is neither simple or cheap and when half-assed, it's not reliable or well mannered.

Have you considered ditching the lift shackles in favor of lift springs? Keeps it spring-under, puts the shackles/spring ends a little more out of the way, and no need for steering and anti-wrap solutions. Seems to me this would be both the cheapest and easiest idea. That should hold you over until the LJ is done.

I have rubbing issues without the shackle lift. As for lift springs. I'm already on 4" lift springs.

I guess I'll just shut up and drive it lol.
