    Ultra 4 style buggy

Well by now most of you guys know me from my 1 ton jk builds I really slacked on posting up the second build but I will update it soon! the white jeep is working great lots of fun but I am also loosing interest in the whole go slow and rock crawl scene so am leaning towards the go fasssst scene since I come from motocross!

I have learnt a lot over the years with all the jeeps and builds and it is time I put my engineering back ground to more use than a simple JK build

This will be a multiple year project as I an planning to do all the design work in CAD and make sure it all works together FIRST as well as design all the suspension to work as intended with all the calculations

    Build specs:
Tube chassis out of 2" and 1.75" and 1.5" DOM
    6.2L chevy with some goodies
    6L80E tranny
Atlas 2 speed or maybe 3
planning on Torq super 14s front and back with probably 4.10s
    PSC full hydro
Profender 14" front coilover with triple bypass and 16-18" rear coilover and triple bypass

I want the buggy to flow really nice and look sexy but also be rigid enough to withstand a high speed crash but have enough flex to not fatigue crack a lot from extreme abuse

this will be a slow build thread as I still love to beat on the jeeps and tune the jeeps and learn more and more about it all I love pushing my limits and growing but I will post stuff as I go

Here is the initial design I started it last night and got the bare bones basic chassis whipped up lots to change and add over time but I am getting there!

All the design is done using Solidworks 2014 on a basic HP computer at home nothing fancy just sit down and put the time in as the wife allows

a learning experience is one of those things that says, you know that thing you just did...don't do that again.

Sounds like fun.......and expensive. lol. Excited to see this come together! And i'd reconsider the 6L80e for the 4L80e.

6l80 is a pretty awesome trans if you can make the room and get the TCM right.

haha yes expensive and yeah the driveline parts might change as time goes on! the goal is to just have the chassis fully designed and all FEA completed by winter then next year build chassis so this will take a few years I have the jeep to drive and have fun so no rush I want it done right

jeeps have been fun and all but time to move on I think and get back into the go fast stuff and use more of my knowledge rather than just bolt pieces on a jeep need more of a challenge in life now all I want better on the jeeps is smoother road handling oris are a little to stiff still so im pretty happy with it

Most of the pics on this will be all CAD stuff and design stuff I will try and keep this a more technical thread in hopes to teach more guys to attempt such a thing and help people learn!

anyone know where to get a JK fiberglass front clip? havent had a chance to bug Tim at tmr about where he got his yet haha
