Looks good to me. I do like the looks of the aqualu flares. They wont break as well.

I had the original versions on my TJ and they took a beating over 7+ years of wheeling so I'm not worried about them, plus I can paint match better when everything gets painted.

Anyway to get the bottom of the box to line up with the bottom of the tub? Every time I see these bed conversions that's what bugs me aesthetically the most. Even CJ10's had this problem, it really effect the flow of the body line and looks hacked together.

@PRIORITY 4 :MCE flares are virtually indestructible. They are purposely made to flex with a lifetime guarantee against breakage. They would be arguable more durable then the aluminum and less likely to transfer energy to the side of the bed in the case of an impact.

My post reads that this box is a test fit - its not the final version, yes the MCE flares flex thats why I got them but they don't look right, and the Aluminum flares on my CJ took a beating for 8 years with only one dent from really caking a bolder - so I have no issues with the Aqualu flares. Plus we would have had to add extensions behind the MCE flares anyway as they are not near wide enough.

Cool didn't realize they are going to make you a custom one off box as I had just assumed the debate was between the length and the wheel well position. As for post about the MCE flares that was directed to PRIORITY 4 as quoted since he implied the would likely "break". A lot of people think the MCE's are just another plastic flare where in fact they are far from it. Point proven when I purchased my fronts for my Jeep for $40 used cause they were just plastic...lol
