    Temp cat delete question

The catalytic converter in my truck took a sh!t about a month ago and seems like it's plugged up now. Power is a bit down and using fuel.

It was mentioned to me just to cut it out and straight pipe it to the muffler for now and when it comes to do an etest just to bolt one in for than. My question is, without the cat won't my o2's throw codes ? Just kinda curious because I'll need to fix this real soon lol...

    Temp cat delete question

On a 97...yes you should get codes. On the newer tjs they have 3 cats and only the first 2 have sensors.

In that case I have no idea

Basically though, if there are sensors on both sides of a cat, the computer will likely throw a code if it's missing. It will however probably run just fine.

Fawk and I'm very meticulous and HATE having lights on my dash lol... Guess I'll suck it up and buy the cat on Boxing Day

    Temp cat delete question

The cat is the crossover. Aside from the small crossover up front behind the radiator, the cat-delete with elbows doesnt touch that one.
