    Drowned Yukon

So I know a guy that sunk his truck in a pond. Lol. He said he's having issues getting it fired. It's close to starting, sputters for a sec every crank and actually ran for a few seconds. Ran for about 10 seconds with brake clean in the throttle body. Oil was changed, plugs pulled and cranked over and drained water out of fuel tank. Mind you did try running it with watery fuel at first. Don't really think it's sensor issue cause it did run with the brake clean bypassing the fuel system. I'm suspecting injectors, plugged filter just enough to not supply proper pressure or weak fuel pump. I'm gonna swap out some injectors tomorrow and hook up a fuel pressure tester but thought I'd toss it out there more ideas or laughs. It's an 01 with the 5.3.

So, uh, this guy...do you know if he checked for fuel pressure at the rail?

a learning experience is one of those things that says, you know that thing you just did...don't do that again.

He checked. She's a squirter. Drained the tank jumping the pump relay. Hooked a hose to the incoming line at the rail out into a bucket.

If fuel is at the rail (sans pond water), this guy should check for an injector pulse. You...ahem...he can use a test light.

Started out with some skating and a nice fire in the middle of the pond. And of course a bunch of road flares. Lol

Then some guy went for a rip

    Yukon down

Next day damage report.* We've got a sinker!

Some ice fishing for a trailer hitch

    Getting closer

And she's out. Choked out my buddies 20k hydraulic winch. Had to arm strong it with the boom then tighten up slack and repeat

    Brush guard fail.....or win? Lol

    And she's still drying

And that's all I have to say about that.

    Can't forget the fishing truck

And the hitch had an iceberg in the way so figured a crafty J hook for the axle was the ticket. End of the day a strap through the windows and said iceberg underneath and she pretty much floated to shore with some crafty iceberg tetris. Lol

Tried that, no dice. Even swapped the intake with one here to see if new sensor made a difference.

Silent running. It's a submarine thing. Jokes aside, the basic check list. Do you have good spark? If you do.....does it look like #1 gets that spark at TDC (no timing marks these days...so it's hard)? If it does...spray the throttle body with some gas....and hopefully it will at least kick or turn over faster. It's gotta be one or the other. Wish I was there to take a crack at it.

So we have fire, injector pulse and fuel. Swapped the entire fuel rail and injectors and same shit. Fires for a second then nothing. Starting to wonder about security kicking something out. Have a computer but not sure if it's tied to vehicle and don't want to fry something.

Security let's it run normal for 2-3 seconds. Was the ignition key area under water? Maybe need to take the immobilizer unit out and dry it

    Drowned Yukon

Treat it like a phone, put the whole Yukon in a bag of rice for a couple of days. That'll fix it right up.
