Can anyone recommend an affordable place to buy a replacement gas tank for a J10? Im finding they are all at least $300 online.

I don't know. When I bought the truck the previous owner had a rectangular metal box in the back for a gas tank. I have the original tank which appears to have been patched with fibreglass. Its doesn't inspire confidence.

NOS and reproduction OEM parts are very limited for these vehicles so you don't exactly have a lot of options. I found MTS plastic tanks for J trucks that are $180 USD. I highly doubt you are going to do better than that for a new reproduction tank.

180 is not so bad. Where did you see that?

I missed this when you posted it. I don't know which tank you need so you will have to select the part number and then go to gas tank depot for the price but you get the idea...
