    Question Disc Brake Conversion for 86 CJ Dana 44

    anyone done this? would like to keep the e-brake and would prefer it be bolt on... is it the same as any other Dana 44???

    Most kits for the 44 are weld on.
    There are many different variations of the 44.
    Keeping the e-brake will cost a lot more. If you have a Dana300 you can get a t-case mounted e-brake from High Angle Driveline.
    You can also go with the Caddy calipers on the rear but I think they are about $300 each .
    Talk to the guys from Kanrok...I had a set of their weld on brackets on a scout 44 and they were very nice and the price is great .

    I did it on Dana35 with 95ZJ bolt on parts, the same procedure as the Dana40. Cost around $500 with all new brake components.
