    ANC 4.2 question

Right behind my oil filler thing (on top of the rocker cover)on my 4.2 is a hole about 3/4" in diamiter with a rubber gromit/donut/ in it. It sprays oil out of it.It is a 1986 amc motor. Is something spozed to go there and if so what. Where does it go if there is spozed to be some kind of a hose.

There is one of those just above the starter too, sprays oil all over the place...

That is on an 1983 AMC motor though...probably no difference.

But still would like to know why a plastic plug?

Uncle Jesse - i think a PCV valve is supposed to be there or the CCV.

Buddy- That may be the spot for the oil pressure sending unit.

It is for the PCV valve. It routes back to the breather ( If you're missing the hose then there should be a hole or a fitting on the breather). You can find all the parts at CTC. You will need it if you require an emissions test.

Will this break if I beat on it?
