I have seen this on a jeep TJ up here.

you could build one, I have also seen a rig where the rear piece went into the trailer hitch, and the front rack was attached to the bumper. It was for a 24 footer though.

    canoe rack

i got a 03 and i use a hinge mounted light bar up front and in the rear receiver is a welded "T" bar....was lot cheaper then a cargo rack...but you will need a hitch...i had a hitch already, for small boat, but do lot of back lake trips with canoe in the Temagami district......will send you detailed picks if you message me.....worked great for years....and works with hard or soft top...great set up and no rattles...

    Thanx for the suggestions.

Any idea who carries Top5 - I have been trying to contact them to no avail. It looks like a great system - a bit pricey particularly since I will have to get someone to install it for me - however I sense it may be worth the investment.

I tried putting a canoe from the windshield to the roll bar with no top... the amount of wind pushing down shot my sunglass off to the floor... I would think it would be too much pressure for a soft top...

I use a utility trailer for my canoe... it is the easyest way.

I'm pretty sure that Just Jeeps carries or can order Top5 equipment.

Try a local company that specializes in racks ... I got my TopFive from AutoRacks in Ottawa.
