random revving when put in park

my girlfriend's 1999 Saturn revs up to about 2000rpm when we put it in park. At first it only did it every now and then but now it does it every time.
The people at Saturn thought that it was a broken thermostat that was constantly pumping rich fuel, but they replaced it and it didnt solve anything.

    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks

MAP or O2 sensor? My Wife had the same year. Engine blew at 100k.

She loved the car but after the motor went, we did some research on the web and found a bunch of sites on blown saturn motors. Good car, weak motor.
