How long does a factory clutch last. The car is a 2003 carolla le.we bought new for my Wife and she drives it REALLY easy. Now she says some times she can hear a tick tick and the car doesn't like to go inti 1st sometimes. 117000kms on it.

I get confused once numbers get bigger than I can count on my appendages. I'm only good up to 21!
one quarter turn before something breaks is a good torque spec.

My friends mom has a '03 Corolla with the same symptoms (noise / no 1st), although she has been driving it the way it is for a while with no problems.

Corolla clutch is pretty easy with the right tools. I did the last one in about 4 hours with a hoist and air tools.

a clutch lasts as long as it is treated well...
I was big into the rice rockets ( early 90s )
and replaced the clutch in my prelude 4 times in one year...
    YES I ABUSED THAT CAR...
