Almost the esact same thing happened to a friend in his Series in VT driving through a place that had been logged. ONly in his case it came up trhough the passenger side...where his wife was sitting. Stopped before it impaled her.

never had thought that there will be thing (logs, etc) will pass through the front axle then pointed at such an angle and push into the body of the truck.

Well, in my friend's case it was just lying on the ground and was exactly the right length to that when his front tire rolled off the end of it, and it kicked up, it wedged in the ground and punched up through the floor pan. Could happen to any of us.
The one with the jeep looks like he just wasn't watching where he was going. But maybe most wouldn't think twice about it. I know I've always thought about it, since my friend's incident.

    Okay
    Message:

MUDDY RANGE ROVER is exagerating a little . Yes it is on some Land rover Sites
Here is an example of the comments from a large Landie site. and i think everyone realises what a freak accident this is. Just Like the Video during the LAND ROVER CAMEL TROPHY where the passenger had just got out to help spot when the driver drove into a huge log and put it thru the passenger side window and impaled the seat
    Cheers

^^^I agree, no WAY was he only doing 10 mph. And is it just me, or do the location of the tree trunk on the seat, and the picture of the guy with his ribs all bruised not quite match up?

He said he was pinned to the seat by the log. I think they would have moved it to get him out....................

Ya he said he had to break a piece off the end of the log just to get out. That's pretty crazy but you guys make some good points about purposely driving on the tree and probably going too fast. Isn't the firewall pretty thick steel though?
