Barrie shop for some work on a Malibu

Our 97 Mali is acting up, and we're just looking for a Barrie area shop that I can trust with it.

I'd like to avoid the dealership, unless they are the best.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks

When I lived in Barrie I took my Jeep to B&K Auto on Blake st for many years.
He always seemed to be honest with me. I had some recurring stalling troubles when it rained, he never suggested just tossing a new part at it for a try.

Fan for heat/cool only works on 4 or 5 (I know I can rip the dash apart to get at what I need, but I'm being lazy) and there's some noise coming from the front end, sounds like an exhaust leak, but doesn't change with reving the engine, does change with speed though.

Its a blower resistor. Its one connector and 2 5.5 mm screws located just behind the blower motor under the passenger side of the dash.

I tested the switch, so figured the resistor was the problem. Didn't know where it was, so thanks! I'll price that out, can probably swing that.

Didn't think wheel bearing.... come to mind it kinda sounds like when the YJ's bearing's go, without the excessive wind/road/engine noise

Thanks all, I'll keep you posted on prices, etc

It will be a blower resistor. As for the wheelbearing they are common on the malibu's. If your not tow sure just way the car from one side to the other to see if the noise changes.

Thanks Sean. I'll see if I can make the noise change. As soon as the weather warms up, and I have a desire to go outside

For the life of me, I can't remember the shop's name.. wife unit took the car in after a recommendation from a classmate.. it was a shot wheel bearing. The ABS light is still on, the code is being thrown for the rear right brake. Mechanic suspects it's a bad wire, as the brakes are working fine.

Last night, I get home and the wife tells me there's no power steering fluid left... I head out, start the car, start to fill it (to burp air) and I see it pissing out all over the driveway.... great... Some days it doesn't pay to get out of bed in the morning.
