    ZJ build on a budget!!

    Hey everyone,

Well ive been putting a bunch of posts here and there for a while now on my rig, well ive decided to finally get around to posting one BUILD thread on the grand so everythings organized.

    THe begining.

    1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
    4.0L automatic np231
    danna 35/30

First mods and pics i have are with 31's and a 2" budget boost wheeled it this wasy for 2 months.

After the 2" budget boost became to small for me i picked up a set of 4" skyjacker coils for up front and did a front to rear swap. wheeled like that for about 3 weeks.

That is the jeep with the 4" lift. I also ended up putting in some custom long i made as seen in this photo.

You can also see the custom Rock Rails i made in that photo they are constructed from
    3x3" 3/16" wall tube
    2x2" 1/4" wall tube
    3x3" 1/8" wall angle

The jeep jeep also now has the 2" BB on top of the springs so its about 6" lift now.

With the 6" lift i couldnt stand having the 31's anymore so i opted for a killer deal on 33's from my good buddy Caledoniajeeper.

Also the interior has been getting some work done to it the entire carpet has been pulled out, the rear seats have been pitched, i got some APC racing seats from loosecannon, picked up a fire extinguisher and roll over meeter!

Also i thought i woudl post up the chop i did.

It was sheet metal mig welded in and ground smooth, then 2 layers of fiber glass was put over the steel, sanded primed and painted.

I will continue with some more pics of progress tomorrow

Moved tank up in the back and rear bumper build!!

Good job on the truck dude, love the rock sliders, I am going to have to PM you and talk about a set for my rig!

PS> When is a build EVER on budget? We say we will spend 100$ and we end up spending triple that! Its ok, all worth it on the trail!!!!
    See you at GSO hopefully.

A couple of the American guys are going to be trailering their rigs up, so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm driving from up here to get there.

i looked at ILikeMuds thread on mallcrawlin he said as long as you have insurance and plates you can go beacuse u have to drive to the trails..

Well my jeep doesnt have either haha it wont pass a vehicle safety or emisions and i dont have the cash to put insurance on it just to drive it offroad so i dont think i can go legally

I personally wouldn't worr about the "legallities" of it. THen again, I was nnever much for following authority.

However, b/c I drive my truck in the city once in a while, I insure it from like march till november.

    44s and 37s?

Why not just go 1 ton? Beefier anyhow, especially in a heavy rig like a ZJ.
