    CHAMPION WARN TITAN Planetary gears

The Three pictures show each set of gears in the following order. The First is the Champion the second is the Warn M8000 and the final picture is the Titan 10,000lb

Interestingly enough the Champion Gears are the exact same as my other thread on a winch that was a different make to the Champion.
    Cheers.

Actually if you look closer you will see the carrier for the first two gears are about twice as thick for the Titan and the main gears are wider than the Warn.

And yes it was your winch i got it working and was going to give it back to you bu after starting to strip it down i found so many problems with it that honestly it would probably grenade and definatelly fry the motor with the first real pull on it . the drum was cutting into the one side of the leg for mounting on to the plate and had put grooves in the metal the motor as soon as i took the cap of all you could smell was the burn smell from the motor i can put some pics showing you. I just didnt bother going any further with a comparison as it was pointless / instead a better comparison is the Warn M 8000

i never like seeing this where they just fill the gear housing full of grease to try and make it last thru a warranty period

If you look to the left you can see the scoring on the plate caused from the drum . the problem with this is caused by the design the bottom front solenoid housing has a ribbed double front and the top rear uses a small bar acroos the top to stop twisting . this just does not work it allows to much flex between the two sides.

You forgot to mention the two guppies and the minnow you found wrapped around his armature Duncan.
