Now that I have engine & trans I'm back to the head scratching. 4L80 is a 2wd. First step is to see how deep the splines go so I can hopefully cut. But either way I'm leaning towards the 205. Can recoup some loot selling the flipped 300 and maybe my 231.....think I might of gave it away already. Lol

Only real options I think are:

Np208 adapter (I think, $?) -* $135 input shaft off pirate* -* flipped dana 300 (free). More then likely would need 2 piece drive shaft.

NP205 or 203 adapter? $? (Need to read more) -* 32 spline dodge NP241 ?* -* hack and tap crap with stock yoke

    NP205 adapter ($1-200)* -* 32 spline from chev 205 ($80 parts case)* -* ford 205 ($140)

So looks like i'm lucky and got a 4L80 with the long splines. This gives me some room to cut them down. From what i've read now all i need is a th400 to np205 round style adapter, fab up a round spacer and find a 32 spline input from a chev 205 to put into the ford. And of course find a ford 205, which i will likely cut the mohawk off the top. If any buddy has a line on any of these let me know.

Here the splines i'm working with

And other variations they can come in

And the new beater/tow rig i've wasted a bunch of time on to get road worthy. 5.3 4x4 with 275k. Had to drop tank to fix fuel lines, new gas tank straps and fab up new tank strap frame mounts, brake line and what not but not bad for a case beer. lol

A couple thoughts on the T-case issues...

A TH400 205 is the only 205 that you can rob the input from. They are around but are far less common than the TH350 case and usually go for more dollars. You will probably be farther ahead to just go buy a new input from NWF. The are only $149:

Or, use this opportunity to be less of a cheapskate and do the 241/205 doubler Ecobox from NWF. That is the best combo and most economical for the DIY builder and this is the cheapest and easiest time to do the doubler job:

Yup it'll be nwf if i cant find one. Had a line but it was a 27 spline from behind a 350. Found a 205 but it's in London. May have to sort out a convoy if possible and might of found an adapter in guelph.

Ecobox = too rich right now. lol

Don't forget that you don't need to get the t-case adapter or input shaft if you buy the Eco box...so, you can deduct those items from the cost.

Think I'd still need adapter and shaft but either way I'd need 2 cases and that. Too rich. Lol.

I know you don't want to take the vise grips off of your wallet...but you need to read the link and understand how you spec an Eco box. You order the box with whatever output you need to mate it to whatever t-case you want to use. In your case, you simply order it for the 31 spline Ford 205 you have now. There is no point in ordering an Eco box with a 32 spline GM output and then swapping your t-case to a 32 spline input when the 31 spline stuff can be left in place.

And for the adapter, the Eco box does NOT mate to a t-case adapter. It bolts directly to the t-case. You spec the Eco box with the output mounting flange you require to bolt directly to the t-case.

All you need to find is the 32 spline GM 241. These were in any GM truck with a 4L80 from 89-99. So, a lot of vehicles. They are a dime a dozen and not sought-after. They are cheap....like you!
