    Project YTJ Update

    Well its been a while but here are the latest pix from saturday I put in a TJ parking brake, 5.7l TPI 700r4 and the 8 inch skyjacker lift, the body mounts are already done, the only thing i have to figure out is how to mate the TJ gas tank wiring to the YJ wiring and how to put a return line into the TJ tank.

    GO HARD OR GO HOME !!!!!!!!

    I'm good with wiring, and have access to ShopKey (Snap-On's online service manuals w/wiring diagrams). PM me your questions, and I'll see what I can do.

    Alrighty... let's see what we got;

    First, the YJ:

    And secondly, the TJ tank:

    So, pretty simple on the surface

    YJ Wire............................TJ Tank Wire
    Black/Yellow (Ground)...........Black
    Black/Yellow (Ground)...........Brown/Yellow (This is not a misprint, see below)
    Orange/Black (12V+)............Dark Green/White
    Tan/Black (Gauge)...............Dark Blue/ Light Green

    My only concern would be the fuel gauge unit. Ideally, I would transplant the YJ fuel gauge into the TJ sending unit, so I know it would read correctly. The TJ uses a variable GROUND signal, whereas the TJ uses variable VOLTAGE signal. Now, the sending unit itself is just a variable resistor. It shouldn't care if it's resisting ground or power signals... it's just sitting there resisting. But the calibration may be off (thus, swapping the OE piece is prefered).

    Let me know how it goes

    Im going to fire it up this weekend, I think I put the return line in the wrong spot but its only a return I guess, I put in a bulkhead near the pump on the tank, but it may be to low
