i have an idea about building myselff a off road trailer big enough to haul all my camping gear 2 coolers,a water can and a gas can.it will have a 3x5x2 cargo basket high quality hubs a capacity of 1500# fit 31-37 inch tires on jeep 4.5 bolt pattern and be tough enough to go on the trail.

I've been pondering building up my own for camping gear as well. Its a year or two away project for me tho unless I found one already built I like. Definately show off what you're making...

would it be better to use a pintle hitch or a ball?
I always figured the pintle would allow more articulation on the trail...

Pintlr hitch would be best of the two but if your trailer is small and light it will be very noisy.

There is a lot of Aussie companies that make very simple (to replicate) but 180deg rotatably couplers.

I have a few Aussie 4wheel mags. One had an 8page special on offroad trailers. Really cool stuff, Independant Suspensions and so on.

I prefer to build it and not buy it, you see it, I probably made it.
