Looking for cheap way to lift xj

I have a 1992 jeep cherokee and just got bigger tires for free. Now I am looking for a cheap way to lift it about 2" or so. Ihave enough clearence for the tires but just think it would look better lifted a bit. Any ideas how I could do this without spending $1000 on a lift kit.
    Thanks for any help.

I'll be selling my OME lift as soon as i get it out and my new lift in. 2.5" spring front and rear full leaf pack, 4 OME nitro charger shocks. I'll also be selling a 2" budget boost (new as i never did install it) to go with it. With New lower control arms for 4" lift (fixed), and bar pin eliminators, and RE Gen 2 disco's.
You can drop me a PM if interested.

Whats cheap? Your time, or your wallet? Most of the hodge podge ways take running around gathering parts, and making yourself. Buy spending an afternoon at a good junk yard you may only save a 100 bucks, or less over a 2" brand name lift. Anything over 2" will take a bit of fab work.

So long as you're handy, a budget lift of coil spacers and an add-a-leaf would be the least expensive way to add some lift. Any more than 2" will require new shocks too...

main leaf from a ranger will bring the rear up 3" and either buy spacers or get some steel plates (we added 2" of 1/4"plates and drilled the hole in the center)
(currently 10/7" lift and it was all custom and costed nothing but time)

Look in the for sale section for my for sale thread or PM me and make an offer.

That way you do it safe for alignment purposes and right the first time.
