    1994 YJ SBC V8 and 40" Tires

Hi there my project started out as a 1994 YJ with a 2.5L, it was stock for about 2 weeks.

Then I had it on 33's for about a year.

Then I needed to go bigger, started with dropping in a 350 SBC, with a NP435Tranny with granny low first gear, and a NP205 Tcase.

Once that was in it was time for the lift, started with a used set of 4" lift leaf springs, then went SOA on a HP D44 front and D60 out of a 1977 F250 4x4. And 3" body lift.

Once that was done i installed a set of TJ 6" Cutout Fender Flares. and Started my 1 ton High Steer, tapped the YJ steering box for hydraulic assist. Tim from TMR Customs hooked me up with the Bungs and jam nuts.

And now its sits on my buddies 38x15.5R20 Baja MTZ

Any suggestions or critisizm is appreciated.

    Thanks Mike

And all this was done with a 110V welder, drillpress, grinder, wire wheel and a sawzall, and bandsaw and 4 months of elbow grease in my 2 1/2 car garage and a lot of info from jeepkings.ca and other custom fab websites.

And so everyone knows i only have maybe $1000 invested in all the drivetrain, steering and lift, done all by me and my dad.

Thanks Guys but yeah im going to about a 40" tire a little bigger but any bigger and they look goofy.

Yeah i buy everything used and usually the rebiuld kit is cheap, and now on to 4 wheel disc brakes and driveshafts, then exhaust and shes done, will be ready for spring.

Better pic of the engine compartment

    Thanks Mike

Looks good but that thing looks way too tall even for 40" tires, Id lose the body lift and cut more if needed to clear the bigger tires. Other then that it looks good man!

    Looks great!

How did you go about welding to the front housing?

I need some room for it to flex and any bigger tire then 40" and it looks weird, cartoonish almost!

and for the front diff my buddy came over with his arc welder and some weird rods for welding that kinda material i just watched but, it is really strong.

    Rad

I have an aluminum rad out of a 95 2wd chevy that fit between the headlights and i just made some brackets and the hoses were just shortened off the truck. I will late install a high efficiency electric rad fan probably out of a taurus.

The rad is out of a 95 checy 1500 2wd.

The engine i had from my 84 Cutlass supreme i paid $100, $100 for the engine mount kit. I paid $275 for tranny, tcase and both axles. I paid $200 for the 4" Lift Springs, mad body lift my self for $0 i have about $300 tied up in TRE and High steer arms, all bumpers were scrap tubing around the house, maybe a few cans of tremclad and some welding wire. so maybe $1100 i still brakes im just waiting on calipers for the back, driveshafts still need to be ordered. And then tires but for $1100 and 13" of lift aint to bad.

And the tranny is so tall i need the body lift, or i woould lose my ground clearence under my skid plate.

The only thing i dont have priced right now is a NP203 doubler but i havve found one for about $50 waiting on my buddy to get back to me, then i will custom make the shafts and addapters.
