I used it in my hardtop for just over a year, it did scratch easily and was an ugly job but did the trick. Although I remember reading a post on here awhile back that it is illegal to do so.

I'm not saying not to do it, but is illegal as all glass on vehicles MUST be auto grade glass...... But does this mean our soft tops need to have the plastic windows replaced?...I dunno

I think just the windshield and drivers door windows need to be safety glass.

on saturday night I had a puck go through the rink end glass, and the lobby glass behind it ,both are tempered .I changed the end glass myself, but didnt have a lobby glass in stock ,either did the glass shop accross the street ,and you cant cut tempered glass .Anyways, the 4x4 piece of 1/8 lexan I temporarily used for the lobby was $400.00 .

The windshield needs to be safety glass. Everything else can be anything else. The way the law is written, any other GLASS in the vehicle needs to be safety glass. Lexan and plexiglass are not glass, and therefore do not need to be safety glass.

Taking it to an extreme: replacing the windows in your hard top with straight fibreglass is not illegal, even the back window, provided you have side view mirrors.

Now, I have read different posts from different cops interpereting the law each way (all WINDOWS must be safety glass, all GLASS must be safety glass), so don't be surprised if you get hassled.
