Got the grinder out and attacked my 14 bolt today I figured that big lip on the bottom of it had to go it surely would have hung up on something plus I added about an inch of clearance by doing this.

Got my truss welded up today yay making progress.
The batteries died in my welding helmet so I had to resort back to my non auto darkening helmet, you remember them don't you lol.
Anyway half way through what I had to weld up I had the dark window in the helmet flipped up lined up the wand and started to weld forgetting to flip down the dark lens it seemed like forever before I realized fawk me something must be wrong with my helmet its not darkening my one eye still doesn't feel right hopefully no freezing drops will be needed tonight

Started the 4 link crossmember today don't like the way it turned out so I'm off to get some more 1 3/4 tubing tomorrow. I'm going to make it like my tranny crossmember except I will use tubing (slug material) through the frame to keep the frame from collapsing when I bolt this in.

Made up the new crossmember today worked out alot better than the first one. The first one was way to ghetto fab.
With the second crossmember in place it will be real easy to make a skid plate to cover at least the transfer case.
hope to get some tabs welted onto the axle tomorrow then mock up some links with some one inch tubing the aluminum is way too expensive to do mock up with.

What wheel base are you going for? I got my entire drive train up above the frame for a true flat skid. One piece of .250 Hardox from the oil pan to the rear output. 30" under the frame with the airbags pumped up.

I'm not sure what the wheel base will be yet but I'm thinking about 4 inch stretch in the rear and about 6 in the front.
