Cut line drawn and rope holding bedsides from flopping outward.

Got my donor tub earlier this week... spent alot of time measuring and remeasuring... with not being bolted down and the sides being cut it wasn't very even and square BLSXJ came by to give me a had leveling it up and marking the lines.

Lines all drawn and tied up ready to be cut...

15" filler piece to turn the TJ in an LJ Gave myself roughly 3/4" to play with once everything goes together.

I think the pic we all want to see is the new filler piece mocked up in between your original tub.

Cool, nice work. I picked up the back half of an LJ last weekend, and will be starting something similar in the fall. Will be watching carefully.

Jeez you are pushy! I need to have a beer call at the house to get some muscles to help lift the front tub portion on to the frame... Plus there is no reason to rush things as I still haven't the rear steel corner guards to help line everything up. But the flange tool thingy go shipped out today

Just the tub or the frame too? Depending on what you exactly got doesn't necessarily mean things will be the same between our builds. Post up a build thread! I look forward to watching

Well I figured that the suspension frame mounts weren't just going to make themselves... So this afternoon I cut up some 2X4x.25" and .25" flat stuff to start forming all my lower frame control arm mounts. Need to drill, patch and weld together but you get the main idea.

I'll post a thread once I start getting into it in the fall, but for now I want to wheel some more this summer.

I just picked up the back half of the body, I'm going to stretch the frame 15", so it will have about a 108-9" wheelbase. So not quite the same as yours. I've seen two other builds like this and each one is a little different, so it's good to see and get ideas before I start mine.

Got my Brown Dog Motor Mounts in the mail on Friday... Ultra flex rubber with a 1" lift. Looks like a quality product!

Made a little more progress today... Got the engine/tranny pulled so the TJ frame is ready for pick up.

Had a couple extra hands come over to help get the tub mounted up on the LJ frame... And the tire placed in it's "proper" location... Looks good!

Got a little more work done this week... King pins pulled on the D60, lower control arm mounts built and uppers almost done...

    Clamping them down to weld.

    All welded up.

    Drilled out. Nice a snug!

    Trimming the corners.

Second set of uppers all drilled out... After the first set weren't offset enough

Upper mocked up on the "frame".

Checking the lowers on the "frame".

So after receiving my tail light buckets last week that I plan on running for this project I quickly realized that my "JEEP" TJ tailgate hinge assembly wasn't going to work with the light assembly...

Today I managed to score a fiberglass CJ tailgate. Awesome!

Only problem with it is when I was removing it from the CJ the two nutserts for the hinge popped out... Any advice for fixing that?

Haven't had much time to work on her lately... but I did get a little more done today.

Got some goodies for my conversion... Genright LJ 4" stretch corner guards... and Sinister Fab LJ 5" stretch rocker guards.

Clamped the corner guards on to the "exact" location... Going to fill in the tailgate hinge holes, cut holes for the new taillghts, cut the tub for the LJ gas cap location and possibly relocate the Evap system.

Got both sides on and had to do some adjusting to get them to the 15" mark for the LJ length.

Cleaned and trimmed up the filler piece... just going to need some minor buffing in certain areas... might have to do some hammering to make certain lines to meet up since the two tubs used are not the same.

Well I haven't gotten anything done in the last couple of weeks up until this weekend...

Filler piece is fully welded in, wire wheeled/grinded/sanded, wax & grease remover applied, Rust Check primer applied and Hemi Orange sprayed on the sides. Since the corner guards are going to cover up the sides I'm not concerned about the difference in orange or using bondo to cover things up.

Sandblasted the knuckles and tried pulling the Dana 60 carrier... super tight! Guess I'm going to need a case spreader... Any suggestions?

Or should I just do it the "Professional" way?
