A little update at a time... I'm in no rush!
I'll give that shop a call that you recommend and I'll let you know what they say.

who siad you were allowed to run leafs? leafs will cost more then links.... trust me.

lets say Leafs cost "X" and Links cost "Y"

you install Leafs for X now, then get it running and discover TJ and his sidekick get sick from the rough ride. only solution is now links. so Links now cost X+Y. LOL

Played around a little more this week... The D300 got wire wheeled and paint while the rest of it's parts all got cleaned up. Shifter housing got cut for clearance, drilled and tapped for plugs to close up the rail housing.

Corner guards, rockers and tramp stamp have all their holes drilled and nutserts installed. Going to have to trim some of the metal infront of the rear tires... clearly I could have stretched it more... but then would have had fuel tank issues.

Tramp stamp painted and tail light buckets cut into corner guards and tub. Need to start wiring up the new tail lights and probably start hooking the engine back up.

Roughly 11" of stick out... Hmm...

What are you doing for shifters, seeing as you removed the stock ones? Using a flip kit with the shifers up top? You going cable or sticks?
What did you do with the shift rails? I have one damaged one that I can't get a replacement for, although I have a machine shop looking to make me one, but don't know how long that will take.

You going to do something about tire coverage?

Good job, great job, now I have to get back out to the garage after dinner.

Tire coverage... Ummm... 11" flares? LOL. I'm not 100% sure what I'll doing yet for flares... Maybe flares or just big removable rubber mud flaps.

Is the damaged rail the one that came with your 4:1 kit? I see that Advance Adapters and North West Fab have rails that come with their shifter kits... Might be worth contacting them to see if they can hook you up and replace your damaged one.

My plan for now is probably to do mechanical shifter on the 300 and cable for the 231. Check out JB Customs Fabrication on Pirate4X4 in the general 4x4 section. There is a discussion about their products and whats available. They sell two versions... 1) machined billet aluminum shifters $130 per a module (Can stack modules depending on the number of shifters you) SUPER SEXY! 2) stainless steel buddy style, twin $130 triple $155. Add to that price the cost of cables and kit.

Unfortunately it's the front shift rail, the one that doesn't come with the kits, and I've already talked to a lot of places about that rail, it's quite rare. I have the JB 4:1 kit, so I have a new rear rail already, I just need to modify it so I can do front digs.

As to shifters I already have the NWF triple cable shifters. I had the AA cable shifter before and love how smooth the cable shifters are.

what about inflatable flares? piped to a CO2 tank, that you can deploy instantly when ever you see the MTO... kinda like the inflatable PFD's.

I have a set of 205/75-15's that would tuck in nice! straight trade

So I decided to tackle my corner guard issue of the tires rubbing... Drew the curve of the current opening and then extended the center section almost 5"... Tire at full bump and no contact front or rear... also leaves me some room to push the axle back a little more if need be... just need to clean up and smooth out the opening.

Rear lights/buckets are all cleaned up and painted along with the wiring all redone and plugs into the TJ wiring system and also works

It's been a frustrating last couple of weeks... dealing with different people/businesses and realizing that life now is about making money... not making quality products or honest sales... but making money. There are a few good ones out there but I have learnt that if I can possibly make it myself then do that... and if I can't then don't set my expectations too high. Started bolting my front clip on to my frame... front end of my frame that was never been in an accident or damaged in anyway... apparently... is fawked... so...

Just finished watching this on W5... prime example... buyer beware. If you plan on buying a used vehicle this is something definitely worth watching...

    That's all for now...
