    TJ Tube Fenders

I been wanting to make as set for my TJ for while now. Staang made a set for No Bling and I liked the fact that it opens and raises the wheel well opening. I ask him to make a set of tubes for me but with 12" extra tube so I can make the fenders wider. Thanks staang.
I started yesterday and have the fenders ready to be chopped up. Being that I want mine wider there is more work involved. I plan to cut the old outer fender right off and add in new sheet metal. The outer fenders always end up rusting anyways. I can't descide how I want the lower portion of tube to tie back in yet. A couple of beers will help that process out.

I ended up bending the tube a little more to get the right look. Tied in some 3/16 plate to the batery tray bolts. The sheetmetal work (in my opinion) turned out perfect. The hardest part will be making the passenger side the same, as it is made out of one piece. I used some thin cardboard to get the general shape and then transfered it to metal. I still need to weld the whole fender, it is only tacked, and add in some gussests. Here are a couple of pics of the work so far.

    And yes,
The hood closes all the way and the gap is straight.

I got them back together just in time to try them out. They are painted black underneath and blue on top for now. I been out looking for LED signal lights at Transport truck shops but they were all too big. Motor cycle shops should have smaller LEDs I hope. A couple of zip ties and the factory signals will work till then.

They look like REV111's, I love the angled opening. I wish I did mine like that, it really gives it a mean look.
