Crank sensor, located under the crank pulley, check the plug and wires, there open to road grime and can get damaged.
Cam positioning sensor located on the side of the distributer, remove the cap and check that the sensor is still in place., nope not that, you said it was running when it died, so not likely the cam sensor. It can run of the Crank if you loose the cam.

Thats all I got for now

the vortec motors love fuel pressure make sure you put a gage on it and you should have 60-65 lbs steady while cranking at wot.

also dump a bit of fuel in the intake if it coughs its a week pump for sure (verry common with vortecs)

x2 what mudbros said, have seen vortecs before that seem to have good fuel pressure but won't run, needs enough pressure to overcome the poppets

guess I should of posted back on this earlier ,long story short ,it had only 20 lbs. of fuel pressure once I finally found my guage .. I was told a little over $300.00 for a new sender ,so I searched on flea- bay and found a ton of pumps for about $25.00 u.s. ,and the sellers were good enough to include the proper part number in their adds ,so a quick trip to the local parts store with $80.00 ,and about twenty minutes taking the sender apart ,I was good to go .
