    96 Sunfire tranny issues

So i bought a 96 sunflower for a DD. Got it real cheap and couldnt really pass it up since i have a parts car sitting here with a blown engine.

So i drove it around a bit and noticed a shake-clunk sound in the front end that sounded like a CV shaft failing, so i jacked it up to investigate.

Turns out the cv shaft is fine, its the end of the tranny where the shaft goes in. Its got a fair bit of play in it.

What can i do to fix this? is it a simple fix? just a bearing or bushing in there? or should i plan on doing a tranny swap?

Their is a bearing in there but I'm not sure if it can be changed from the outside of the tranny. I have a funny feeling that they press in from the inside of the tranny. I have replaced the axle seals plenty of times (from the outside) but never a drive bearing. Cheers.
