checker plate. whats holding yours on?

i'm just wondering what ppl are using to hold their checker plate panels on with.

i was thinking of using black buck rivets, purely because the panels are black. but i have seen stainless screws on some rigs.

if your not into screws and other fastners that poke holes you can use panel adhesive avalable at body shop supply stores.

and they wont come off ah ever

1/4-20 nutcerts and Panhead Allen bolts. But after 3weeks on the road the Allen bolts have gone from a nice black to rusty brown, so I have a bunch of Stainless bolts to replace them on a slow night.

i bought some of those allen bolts today too JKmotorsports....was wondering if they would rust. I think i might use them on my dash after i clearcoat them.

heres my final decision..... i'm going to use the stainless screws until i go back to work, and once i can get the YJ in there, i will be replacing the screws with black buck rivets. i just want to get these panels on so i can keep putting this thing together.
I cant put the tail lights and guards on until the corners are on. well.....i can....but i dont want to do this twice.

    thanks to all..

Ya, mine never saw salt either. Just started to rust. I got them from mcmastercarr. I'll use them on interior panels, already holding down mine raise gas tank cover.

thats what i ended up doing. what a pain in the buns to remove my fender flares. the rocker guards i was putting on yesterday go under them, and i wish i would have just took the jigsaw and cut around the flare, but now that they are on, it dont look bad. the biggest fight was trying to fight off the wasps that took over the jeep. i got rid of 6 nests. needless to say....there were some angry wasps.

they stung me twice to prove it! lol

i bought a pack of 100 3/4 " stainless steel self tapers from home depot. It ended up being just under $20, then I painted all of the heads black with automotive paint.
