    95/96 Sunfire 2.2 the same?

anyone know if the 2.2l 4 cyl in a 96 Sunfire is the same as the 2.2l 4 cyl in a 95 Sunfire?

Would the 95 be OBDI and the 96 OBDII? would it matter?

    need help asap, currently vehicleless

the block and head should be the same.

did you destroy the engine or does it just need the head rebuilt those cars are common for head gasket problems

pretty sure that was a new engine design in 95,which if true would pretty much mean they are the same .As for obd1 or 2 ,if you have both engines complete, just swap out any sensors or whatever might be different,if anything at all .

'95 has no block sensors, '96 has cam sensor '97 has has crank and cam sensor,so..... if you have a '95 you can use any 2.2 up to 1997, if you have a '97 you have to use that year only
