    JK Rubicon D-44 Evolution

My Dad has a 07 JK Unlimited Sahara. It has a lot of mods already, one of them was the addition of the rubicon D-44 front axle. It already has 5:13 gears, lower control arm skids, steering stablizer relocator, track bar relocator, solid diff cover and more. He went thru the pain in the ass "death wobble" and with some research learned about the weak points of the JK D-44.

So we added axle tube inserts with zerk fittings and o-rings to stop the tubes from bending and keep the mud out. Next we added C -Nuckle gussets, aparently they are easily bent. Finally we added a track bar relocator that not only relocates the track bar but is very strong and gussets the weak upper control arm bracket, I didn't take a picture of this bracket to close but it is one piece and wraps under the axle aswell.

Nice deal but.... That weak upper control arm bracket is not worth gussetting as the bushing will pop out under heavy load ie. lots of flex. Once it does it will never press back in even with a new bushing. Trust me it took lots of swearing and not mention JB weld before I decided on a Currie unit that eliminates that shit with a JJ and a solid weldable piece.

I hade a little spare time so we nocked off the rear shocks and located them about 2" higher. It took about a half hour to cut and relocate. I see this mod only helping in the mud, or when he is backing up? Hey, every little bit helps right?
