    mounting winch??

    I have just purchased a 9500lb winch and was wondering if i can mount it using my factory bumper as long as i have a good monting plate or do i HAVE to replace the bumper?

    just make sure its bolted in the frame and not the bumper

    Not sure if the JK is similar to the TJ or not, but on the TJ the mounting plate needs to be notched around the sway bar, or have the sway bar loosened and mounted on top of the plate.

    thanks for all the info guys. i found a brand new bumper with universal mount, D-rings and heavy duty fairlead for $400 tax inc. check it out if you want...solid-bumpers.webs.com

    for the money, those look pretty good. but...TMR make really kick ass bumpers.I would recomend them.There front bumper saved my life. no BS. VERY tuff shit.And a VERY good guy to deal with. Search TMR you will see. top of the line stuff IMO.
