    Staang's XJ Build

Well I have a few different threads started about my build. I started them before this section was here.

I now have a new addition to make so I'm gunna put a bunch of links in for my other mods I have done.

    Front longarms
    http://www.jeepkings.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=71463

    Rear 4 link
    http://www.jeepkings.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=76641

Custom axle build, front 44-9 & rear 9" - bigger tires too
    http://www.jeepkings.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=88416

I have also done some steering mods which I have no threads for...
Beefed up the area of my frame where the steering box bolts onto, removing the silly aluminum spacer to fit some DOM tube in its place.
Crossover steering with 3/4 heim joints.

Last year I rebuilt my 2.5L and converted from throttle body injection to multi port injection. Yes, I like my 2.5. Not enough power to break stuff!!

Now onto the latest... Since my 2.5 does not make lots of power I end up slipping the clutch when doing tough climbs. To solve this problem I am installing a 231/d300 doubler.

    1986 2 door XJ, 2.5L 5 spd, 231/300 twin sticked,
8" lift, 36" IROKs, 44-9 frt axle with 5.13's and a detriot, rear 9" with 5.13's and a spool, custom track bar, custom snorkel,
9500lbs winch with custom front and rear bumpers, SBS, Staang's FAB front and rear longarms, crossover steering.

Nope I ended up buying this complete for a decent price.

I was gunna work with Tim (TMR Customs) to make a shaft. Most likely still will.

I have had no troubles with my AX5, and the lil 2.5 wont make enough power to break the AX5.

    True.

But the 5.0 Mustang engine you're dreaming of slamming in there certainly will.

If I was a Jeep, they'd have parted me out a LONG time ago.

I bought the entire unit already together. The adapter goes for $500US. Get it from D.D. Machine.

So I have the doubler mocked into place. I needed to check the clocking on the D300 and to mark where the floor needed to be removed.

I am also going to be making a mount to carry the weight of the 300.

The mechanical shifters come through the factory hole for the t-case lever, this was nice. The shifter for the 231 is on the oposite side of the trans tunnel. A hole was needed for this. I may even be able to use the factory center console.

Here are some pics of the progress.
