    max would be 32s
    add a 2in lift and put 33s
and a 2in lift and 1 in body lift and put 35s

there is a few things to look at before hand
    will you wheel it?
    how wide a tire?
what rim you planning on using?

he is tight for cash so stock rims prob 9.5 10.5 wide tire. it's going to be a metric size but won't be wider then 10.5

ok so I will look in to 32's for him.

oh and yes he is going to wheel it other wise he would just leave the stock tires lol

I'm pretty sure all stock Jk's come with 32's. I have a 09 Sahara Unlimited 2.5 inch lift and 33x11.50x18 and no rubbing issues at all.

Not sure about the JK X, but I have an '08 Rubicon, comes stock with 32" BFG MTs. Great tires, great for wheeling and have decent road manners as well. You can sometimes find guys selling there Rubicon tires as the trucks grow (I wish mine would hurry up and grow!)

33's with the correct aftermarket rim with offset. We do probably one a week here. No rubbing issues what so ever.

seayah put on some xtreme m/ts and some eagle alloy dc-1 replicas and his would rub with any flex at all..

he broke the fender flare crawling over a small curb..

he has 4.625" backspacing on his rims i think.. they look real nice but , i dont think he is too impressed with what he was told when he bought them.

with 33's. you will definitely break the fender flares off on any small bumps.

they will fit.. with no flex at all..
as you can see from the pictures above.

but if you want real world experience send a pm to "Seayah" he is running a wrangler x.. not a rubi or sahara.. the same setup you have..

he had 16" rims as stock.. and 29" tires.

ah.. i see.. your driving an x..
    and you got 35's.. awesome..

you had to trim though, i dont think he wants to trim much.

either way.. if your looking for suggestions the spacers and 33's look amazing on the jk.

i havent seena jk with 35's upclose that ive noticed yet.

Maybe incorrect offset? We have had no issues what so ever with them rubbing and contacting the fender flare especially on the road.

Did you have to trim the front swaybar plastic guard? That seems like a common issue on your set-up.

Here's some good info on wheels and tires for the JK. I've read 4.5 should be the min backspacing to avoid rubbing, of course depends on tire width.

    Jk...

Factory we ran 285 75 16, a hair under 33 with an aggresive offset wheel and we had rub at full flex.... then we did the bb coil spacers and worked great!

    But now.....

the rims and tires i saw rubbing were bougth from just jeeps, in toronto.
they assured him no rubbing. he now has 2" BB and he still has rubbing.

i have a video of him at mud and 20 coming out of a mudhole, and you can hear the tires rubbing over the sound of the engine and all the ambient noises from the other vehicles.
