    intrepid 2.7 - 3.2 engine swap

    I have a 99 concorde lxi with some rust issues and a great running 3.2 ,and there are literally dozens of intrepids with junk 2.7's available locally for cheap . I have searched online and found tons of info,it all looks good ,just wondering if anybody on here has done one of these swaps and if its as easy as it is claimed on-line .I beleive I have pretty much every part as there is nothing wrong with my concorde other than rotten body from some previous bad accident repairs .

    I've done an engine;

    Wasn't terrible. I had it on the floor, clean, in about 4 hours with the use of a hoist.

    thanks ,but not really the same,my engine is set front to back,not side to side like your stratus or whatever that is .I was hoping someone has done one of these swaps on this site,but I guess not .I will probably buy an intrepid next week,and start hacking away at it .

    If you haven't seen it already, there is a manual on ebay available Here.

    It is written by one of the two major Intrepid Experts who has done over 160 2.7 to 3.5 swaps. Here is another link to the work he has done on his car.

    He is located in Ohio, however, the other "intrepid" guy is in Whitby and can also provide lots of insight into a engine swap. Just PM me if you want some contact info to either of them.

    If I'm not mistaken, the 2.7 comes with shorter final drive, (same as the 300M Special and the Intrepid R/T with the H.O. engine).

    You're right, the LH platform vehicles are priced low (don't know why, anything not 2.7L powered is a great vehicle). The 2.7L is notorious for sludge.

    Check out www.dodgeintrepid.net good amounts of information.
