    2002 VW tdi tech forum

Anyone know of any good sites for tech?

Finally found the Jetta i wanted, picked it up last night. What a difference from the Heep(that i am not getting rid of). Can finally do some bigger projects on the Heep without having to put it back together to get to work.

Fred's TDI (http://www.tdiclub.com/). Best out there bar none. Enjoy the TDI. I had the exact car for almost 8 years. Too bad too, i just in the last few months sold off most of my goodies (Bentley manual, Vag-Com, Pella Extractor, a few MetalNerd tools, etc...)

For Maintenance parts, contact Brian at Roseland (http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/roseland/). You are not going to get better prices anywhere. Even with the shipping....

    Cheers,
RIP OD, YOU'LL BE MISSED.... BUT that's OK 'cuz you've been REPLACED !!!

    Diesel e-test

I just did my E-test for my new Diesel VW. Everything on the test was "N/A". WTF is the point in getting one if nothing applies?? Friggin Government money grab? Is there a way around this?

    Done rant...

ya no way around it but on the plus side... no worries on getting it to pass. the guy didn't even look at mine he just signed on the dotted line and entered in the serial # from my ownership. Yes it's a Gvn't cash cow for sure!!! Dame Gvn't!!!

It's an idle test from what I understand. Therefore all the readings they'd usually get at higher rpms at certain speeds are irrelevant.

I hope you have good luck with it.

I tried the same approach a few years ago and what I saved in gas I more than put back into it in parts. That doesn't really mean anything though, I know lots of people who have had good luck with the TDI's.
