    Radiator Support Snatch Point

So I was going to order one from Kevins Offroad but I decided hey i'll just make one, cost me about $100 in materials including the shackles. Much cheaper than the $200 or so I would've spent and I think it looks pretty damn good if I do say so myself. I also didnt have time to wait the 10 days for delivery as I am hitting some trails tommorow.

    Check out Kevins here...

    What I did:
I took out the factory radiator support and replaced it with 1/4" brackets and put square tube between it for the actual radiator support. I then milled the holes into the brackets for the factory bolt locations and the holes for the shackles. I also took another piece of 1/4" and slid it into the unibody with the same holes milled in it for added strength in the front part of the unibody.

I used grade 9 bolts and the shackles are 3/4" pin rated for 9500 pounds each.

I am planning on adding a little piece of round bar on either side to take up the slack of the shackles, but they don't move around at all really while driving. I just wanted to get it done and on the truck as I had to go pick up my girlfriend. I would've taken pics but I forgot my camera at home and didn't go get it until after I was done and had started moving my vents for the diff and stuff. (Check my other thread for that one)

    Ahh, the women can wait!!

    Kidding.

I was going to say the same. Reinforce the shackle mounts. ANY pulling from a slight side angle will bend those up like nothing.

I prefer to build it and not buy it, you see it, I probably made it.
