    Rock sliders

I went off roading last weekend and I bent stock side steps on my 2007 Ford Expedition.
I'm looking for some rock sliders. Unfortunately nobody makes them for Ford so I'll have to have them made.
Can anyone advise if rock sliders can be attached to the body to existing holes (original steps) or should they be attached to the frame.
I saw some pictures on Warn website where rock slider were attached to the body.

Wrong forum, but I would only "Bolt" a rock slider to the frame.

I prefer to build it and not buy it, you see it, I probably made it.
