    warranty question

I have a 3 month old 09 compass that I had a question about. The windshield is cracked on the passenger side starting from the bottom going up and then sharp left. Nothing (that I know of) hit it and there is no sign of anything hitting it.

The crack happened over night on one of the first colder nights we had. I called up jeep and they said glass isn't covered at all for anything. I can understand to a certain point but I believe the damage is manufacture defect (due to it cracking overnight on a cold night). Also, when we got it, we opted for the extra warranty coverage to which they stated everything is covered except for brakes.

Should I fight it with jeep or is it a loosing battle?

Call Chyco direct and explain what happened. If there is any issue, they would be able to resolve the problem for you.

I work for a Ford dealer and if this was a ford product, and there is no signs of this crack being caused from the outside, then we would warranty it as a stress crack from the inside out. From my understanding this is the general rule of thumb for all mfg.

Thanks for the info, I'll be calling my sales guy back tomorrow as well as their service dept.

Blown85, do you know if there is anywhere online that states that?

Same at the dealer that I was service manager at, as long as there is no "impact mark "
